WIP Wednesday

It was worth getting up early to go to Sweet Night. Even if he had to wait in line for an additional 20 minutes most mornings. They were after all very popular. All to place two orders exactly the same and then have the ever-present internal struggle of how to talk to a beautiful barista. The last three months Yoongi had looked up every way to flirt with a barista online and he just couldn’t bring himself to do it. Pick up lines were great but then what?

So, every morning he would get up early, ride the bus for 20 minutes to stand in line for another 20 minutes. Waiting and hoping that something clever would pop in his brain. Or some miracle would happen that would allow him while having an internal debate of if he should or shouldn’t say hi to the man behind the counter. He had managed to learn his name recently. Yoongi wasn’t too proud to admit that he had begun to make these same trips on Sundays just to have the opportunity to see the man.

A miracle did happen one Sunday when he came in before meeting friends for a day of shopping. And the same barista throughout the week happened to be working. In that one 15 minute wait time, he had learned the man’s name was Taehyung and he went by Tae. He also learned that Tae and his best friend JK opened this place last year. Something they had both wanted to do.

But, that was it. He didn’t learn if Tae was single, he had no idea if he was into guys, let alone into Yoongi. Nope during that whole one-sided conversation, mainly Taehyung’s side. All Yoongi had learned was, his name was that he was a partial owner and he preferred going by Tae.

Thankfully Yoongi had been able to pick up more from his daily visits. Tae liked to dye his hair bright colors, with blue being his current color choice. He loved to make the drinks but couldn’t bake to save his life. And he was an art major so all the artwork in the coffee shop belonged to him.
