Jin was freaking out. He would full-on admit it to anyone that would listen that he was totally screwed. Yoongi and he had been dating for not quite, but almost a full year now and not once had he mentioned how much he LOVED Halloween. If he was being fair they had started dating after Halloween so, it wasn’t Jin’s fault that Yoongi never experienced Halloween Seokjin. Never experience the full-on LOVE Halloween fest that happened in his household.

The decorate your house, make your own costumes, attend a party every Friday and Saturday night. Have a film marathon most nights with your best friends, eat candy corn, and carve a different pumpkin for each week, kind of LOVE fest.

Yes he was a baby, yes it scared the daylights out of him to admit this minor obsession with a holiday to his boyfriend, but it was tradition. And one could not just give up the annual tradition that one had started with their best friends before said boyfriend came into the picture.

But, Jin, just might also, sort of, kind of, maybe just a little, like or love. He wasn’t sure yet, Yoongi, and one does not give up on that feeling or potential tradition either.

Jimin, Tae, and Jungkook would want to start coming over, per tradition, in early September and they would want, per tradition, to begin the planning stages it would take to put everything together. Jin admitted usually, per tradition took place at his house where he would cook and they could lounge, in comfortable clothes. They would drink, giggle, write on a HUGE piece of paper, and plot. However, Yoongi had a key and a bad habit, or a rather cute habit of just popping in to bring Seokjin his favorite snack, or food. Seokjin could not risk it.

Traditionally week one in September involved what movies they had to watch, yes it took a whole week to plan that because food and snacks were involved, and alcohol.

Week two became costumes and who was wearing what, who was making what, and who was doing the extras (hair and makeup were very important).

Week three became what haunted houses and parties were happening what they wanted to hit up.

The last week to make sure everything was ready, extra’s that might be missing was picked up, and well for excitement and overall pumpkin buying, candy gathering, and baking.

And now it was the last week in August and the boys wanted to start planning and Jin was freaking out. How was he supposed to tell Yoongi this? Yoongi his perfect boyfriend who didn’t go to parties, also hated crowds and Jin had no idea if he even liked Halloween.

How was Seokjin supposed to tell Yoongi that his apartment in T - minus 2 days was going to look like the Nightmare before Christmas threw up in it and three very loud men plus him were going to be on the biggest sugar high Yoongi had probably ever witnessed before.

So, he panicked and told Jimin, Tae, and Jungkook they had to plan at their place. “But, Hyung your place is so much bigger!”

“I understand that Jungkook but, as I’ve said before we are not planning here so moving along. We will plan at the coffee shop or someone place else.”

They ended up at the coffee place. Apparently, Tae and Jimin were dirty and Namjoon refused to put up with four drunk and sugar high grown men as he had a dissertation and classes to prepare for.

“I still don’t understand why we are here?” Jin took a deep breath before letting it out slowly and only glaring at Jimin.

“Jimin don’t test me. Look are we or are we not going to plan our movies this year?”

An hour later they had the month of movies planned out in between study, work, and boyfriend schedules. Jin’s house would only be hit once a week which he could work Yoongi around that. Weekends now that was going to be harder. But, Jin just knew deep down he would think of something. Maybe he could come up with a virus or something. Decorations, on the other hand, he would have to pull back on for sure.

The next week lead them to costume planning. “Look you are going to have to plan a costume for Yoongi-Hyung.” Jin could feel the frown forming. “Hyung, couples’ costumes are all the rage at parties. And he is going to want to know what you are up to EVERY weekend in October.” Jimin sent Jin a pointed look before kicking Tae under the table

Tae nodded, “I mean Jimin and I might not win but that’s because people don’t have a taste.” Jin watched as they high-fived each other.

“They’re right Hyung Joonie even goes in a couples’ costumes with me. Mind you it usually is a literary couple know one knows or a line friend but still it’s what you do as a couple. Otherwise, what’s the point of having a boyfriend” Jungkook sighed as he sipped on his coco and rested his chin on his hand. “At some point, you are going to have to ask Yoongi. He has to know this is a part of who you are.”

Tae nodded, “Besides how doesn’t he isn’t he friends with Namjoon hyung? Why wouldn’t he know this about you already?”

Jungkook shrugged, “You know Joonie he doesn’t talk about anything that isn’t music or philosophy unless someone else brings it up. He probably doesn’t even realize they are dating.”

The table nodded along and went back to plotting and planning their outfits. Jin planned around a single concept but in the back of his mind, he thought of all the cute couple things they could go as. Like fish and a sushi roll, or Adam and a serpent or Pokeman trainer and Yoongi’s favorite pokemon or he would go as a Pansear. Or maybe Yoongi could go as an Emolga and he could go as a Pansear and they could just have fun after all those are their favorite characters. He had bought one for Yoongi a while back a stuffed one he still had on his bed.

The whole way home that night Jin thought it over. They were right. If he wanted this relationship to last Yoongi at some point had to know about this wonderful, obsession he had with Halloween. He did the most mature and responsible thing he could think of when he got home. He sent a text to Yoongi that read

~💞Yoongichi😻~

I need to talk as soon as possible

Then realizing how bad he would freak out if Yoongi sent him that text he sent another

~ 💞Yoongichi😻~

its nothing bad

Then realized that it might be bad so he quickly wrote…

~ 💞Yoongichi😻~

I don’t think it’s bad

But…

I’m not sure anymore

Before he could think about it any future Yoongi strolled in with his favorite takeout and wine.

“So, we need to talk?”

Jin thought he would cry on the spot. “Yes!” Instead, he rushed over and hugged him holding until Yoongi huffed out a laugh patting him gently.

“Okay, so let’s talk while we eat.”

Jin had never been so nervous before. He was so nervous that he had a hard time eating. “Jin, whatever it is baby I’m sure it’s going to be fine. Just talk to me please.”

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!”

Yoongi sat there and blinking for a few minutes before he turned back to the TV and started eating again, “well?”

“Well, what?”

“Aren’t you going to say anything?”

“Well, I mean I thought you would say you loved me first over a holiday but I will go with it. It is you after all.”

“Oh?”

“So, you love Halloween. I guess this means I need to get a costume.” Yoongi sat there eating as if nothing had changed and Jin’s whole world hadn’t just shifted. Then it hit him that Yoongi was actually okay with this.

“I don’t think you understand what I mean. Like I LOVE Halloween. Like I have 12 boxes of decorations, and I will be baking like crazy. I have every night in October planned with movies and parties. Tae, Jimin and Jungkook will be joining me or I will go over to theirs and Namjoon gets wrangled into them as he dates Namjoon. AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WILL BE BUYING A COSTUME. ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you are getting a costume at all I will make it!” Jin took a moment to breathe

Yoongi blinked at him then turned back to the TV and continued to eat. Jin watched in confusion as Yoongi acted like he didn’t just meltdown on him as he continued to eat. “Yoongi?”

When he turned and looked at him Jin smiled. “I love you too.”

Jin watched as a small smile grew until a gummy one before Yoongi looked away and they went back to eating as Jin’s appetite came back. Turned out he was ravenous.

September came and went with all the planning and the first week of October flew filled with movie watching and Jin constantly seeking out Yoongi to make sure he was really okay with it all including the spider webs and decorations.

“Yes, Jinnie I am okay with it I swear.”

Jimin, Tae, and Jungkook were just happy to have everything back the way it had been the previous years in the comforts of Seokjin’s place. Yoongi even joined once before he deemed it a bit too sugar-loaded for him before he left to go find Namjoon.

By the time of the first party, Yoongi met at Jin’s place. Before he could even take off his second shoe completely he was pulled into the bedroom and told to strip.

“Um, as much as I want to see where this is heading I thought we had a party to get to?”

“Don’t be silly Yoongi we do! I made us matching costumes!”

When Jin pulled out the outfits he watched as Yoongi bit his lip, “what its cute look you are bread with jelly and I’m your matching piece with peanut butter.”

Yoongi shook his head but sighed as he started to put it on. “No, it’s okay wait I have something better I think you will like. Okay, shut your eyes.”

Jin waited until Yoongi was at least squinting then handed him his homemade Emolga outfit. “You can be Emolga and I will be Pansear we can be POKEMON together!!!!”

He watched as Yoongi smiled looking down at the costume his neck turning red before he looked up at Jin smiling his wonderful bashful smile that only Jin was privileged to see. “If this will make you happy Jinnie I will wear it. Let’s be Pokeman together.”

He smiled back and nodded as he wiggled into his Pansear outfit. Before they left Jin made sure to take a ton of pictures posting them everywhere including their group chat before they headed to the first party of the year. When he looked over at Yoongi’s phone to see how much longer before the taxi arrived he bit his lip to hold back the smile when he saw them in costume as his home screen.

Once they arrived they noticed that their group of friends were standing around outside waiting for them. A round of “hey” and “oh my god you look so cute” were exchanged as were pictures of the group, couples pictures, and friends pictures before heading inside.

The party wasn’t what Jin was hoping for. It was loud and crowded and reminded him of his college days. After wandering around for a while he noticed that Yoongi and Namjoon were posted up against a wall yelling at each other. Jin went up next to them and pulled Yoongi outside, “are you having any fun?”

“Sure? If you like I like it.”

“That isn’t what I asked.” Jin looked down and bit his lip.

“Jin I don’t like parties and I don’t like crowds so no I’m not having fun.”

He huffed then smacked Yoongi, “then why did we come. Why are we still here?” Jin crossed his arms and pouted.

“Don’t blame me it was your idea to come here” Yoongi grumbled while rubbing his sore arm. “Look Jinnie why don’t we go home, we can pick up some dessert on the way home, I’ll make us some hot chocolate when we get home and we can watch one of the movies that got rejected last month after we get in our comfortable PJs and cuddle under the blankets.”

Jin smiled and hugged Yoongi making sure to nuzzle into his neck. “I like that idea very much my Emolga. Take me home!”
